Lala Lajpat Rai has played an important role in the freedom struggle. Lala Ji was an important figure in the strength of Lal Pal Bal (Lala Lajpat Rai, Vipin Chandra Pal, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak). Lalaji, popularly known as Punjab Kesari, was the leader of the Garam Dal in the Indian National Congress. early life

Lala Lajpat Rai was born on 28 January 1865 in the Moga district of Punjab (undivided India) to the Agarwal family. The father's name was Munshi Radha Krishna Aggarwal and the mother's name was Pink Devi Aggarwal. In 1877, at the age of 12, Lalaji was married to Radha Devi Aggarwal. You had 3 children. His father was a teacher, he was transferred to Rewari in 1870. The primary education was from Government Higher Secondary School where his father was a teacher of Urdu. In 1880, he studied law from Government College of Lahore and in 1886 came to Hisar with his family. He also practiced advocacy from here

Political life

After studying law, he moved to Hisar in 1886 and started his practice here. Lalaji established Dayanand Anglo School for which he also collected funds. He worked for Mil Arya Samaj with Dayanand Saraswati and also participated in the activities of the Indian National Congress. Lala Lajpat Rai has also been the President of the 1920 Calcutta Session. Lala Lajpat Rai has played an important role in the freedom movement. Lala Lajpat Rai, Vipin Chandra Pal, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak were famous by the name of all three Lal Pal Bal ki Thagadi. In 1905, he went to England as the Congress representative and put the freedom side of the public there. In 1908, Indian students were inspired to nationalism in England and in 1913 traveled to Japan and America while in 1916 established the Home Rule League in America.

Travel abroad

He also traveled abroad several times to propagate the real conditions of India. He went to Britain in 1914 when World War I was taking place. He also went to the United States of America to support India. He also wrote a book called Young India. When the world war ended in 1920, he returned to India. He did not agree to discontinue the non-cooperation movement of Gandhiji due to the Chaura Chori massacre and founded the Congress Independence Party.

Oppose Simon Commission

When the Simon Commission came to India in 1920, the whole of India was opposed to it. Lala Lajpat Rai himself led the procession to protest the Simon Commission. The procession was peaceful, but the British Government Superintendent of Police James A. Scott ordered a lathi charge to stop the march. In which Lala Lajpat Rai suffered severe head injuries due to which he died.

Why Lala Lajpat Rai is called Punjab Kesari

Lala Lajpat Rai is known as Lalaji, Sher A Punjab and Punjab Kesari. It is called Punjab Kesari because when they used to talk, their tone resonated like any other Kesari. Just as all the wildlife are frightened by the roar of Kesari, similarly the English government used to shiver with the roar of Lala Lajpat Rai.

Lala Lajpat Rai founded the Punjab National Bank.
He founded Laxmi Insurance Company.
Established the Home Rule League in 1916.
Simon Commission led the protest march.
Opposed the partition of Bengal.
Formed a hot party.
Wrote a book called Young India.
Congress established the Independence Party.

On 30 October 1928, when he died during lathicharge in protest against Simon Commission, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru avenged his death by killing John Sanders.
